Match Report:

On a bitterly cold day, Purton Under 11's faced a tough away game against local team Wootton Bassett. Purton started brightly, looking very solid in defence, and soaking up pressure from Wootton Bassett. Most of the chances created by Purton were on the break. Purton went close on a couple of occassions through Edgar Espinosa, but were unable to convert any of their chances. Half time 0-0. 

The second hald continued on from where the first half finished. Purton soaking up the pressure and attacking on the break. As the half wore on, Purton beagn to step up the pressure in a bid to win the game. Unfortunately, midway through the half, Josh Harper got injured which proved to be the turning point. During Purton's reorganisation, Wootton Bassett scored to take the lead 1-0. With Purton now chasing the game, Wootton Basset added two more goals to make the final score 0-3.

"The lads defended superbly for 45 minutes, just as we were starting to attack and look dangerous, Josh got injured, which changed our plans and the shape of our team. This proved to be the turning point as Bassett made the most of our enforced changes. Well done to Bassett."
