Match Report :Purton Colts were looking to continue their 100 % record with an away fixture on a wet and boggy pitch at Croft. The first half was played at a fast and frantic pace. The Colts made a few chances without really threatening the Croft goal. Most of the best chances fell to Croft who eventually capitalised on a defensive mix up to take a half time lead of 1 - 0. Purton raced out of the blocks in the second half looking to get back into the game. Attack after attack led to chances being created one after the other. Croft also creating chances in a close and tense second half. Eventually Kieran O'Driscoll scored with a right foot angled shot...1-1. Shortly afterwards, Croft again took the lead...2 - 1. Purton again came back at Croft in search of another equaliser, but unfortunately time ran out. Final score 2 - 1.

Coaches comments :"A great game to watch, with both sides playing their part in an exciting game. The game could have gone either way, with plenty of chances at both ends. I was very pleased with the second half performance where they showed great character. It is always nice to win, but they will learn more from a defeat than a victory." |
